Pre-assembled and RTA Custom Cabinets
Without a doubt, the kitchen is the heart of any home. It's the place where your family and friends gather, for holidays, birthday celebrations, and everyday life, creating memories that last a lifetime. The fact is, the value a custom cabinets renovation adds to your home is well worth it; it not only adds value to your home, but also adds value to your family's quality of life. An updated kitchen, with clean, modern cabinetry makes life easy, freeing you up to enjoy life more fully.
While a renovation involves several aspects, including updating the appliances, flooring, and plumbing, the most noticeable is hands down, the custom kitchen cabinets. While it may be cheaper to repaint or resurface, in the end, the results will be far less than satisfying. Solid wood cabinets are not only highly durable and attractive, but they also add meaningful value to your home and lifestyle. And, they can be surprisingly affordable. Pre-assembled and RTA kitchen cabinets can save you a significant amount of money. That's especially true when you buy factory direct!
When it comes to a kitchen's form and function, ease of use and an aesthetically pleasing environment top the list. And what is more pleasing than a bright, easy to clean kitchen? Gone are the days of heavy, dark wood cabinets; the trend today is clean, white Shaker cabinets that add a bright, modern appeal. Other modern trends include light grey and blue shaker cabinets. When paired with other trends such as a solid, natural stone backsplash and countertop, the results are visually stunning.
Of course, this space must also be functional. The good news is, today's pre-assembled and RTA cabinets are not only roomy, but can include child safety features and conveniences such as soft close hinges for the doors and soft close drawer slides for drawers. The bottom line is, along with your appliances, your cabinets are the most important, functional component of the kitchen. Choosing, a clean, modern design is both smart and affordable.
Choosing Your Custom Cabinets Style
Now that you're confident and ready to tackle your renovation, choosing a kitchen cabinet style is the next step. Browsing online is a good way to get an idea of what the styles are, and what's available.
Among the most popular, and most readily available styles are traditional and Shaker cabinets.
While traditional DIY cabinets are often imagined in dark wood finishes, lighter colors, such as white, cream, grey, or even blue instantly add a modern touch. While Shaker cabinets date back to the 18th century, their simplicity and functionality are responsible for the current surge in popularity. Simple, white Shaker kitchen cabinets are perfect for the modern farmhouse aesthetic.
When it comes to solid wood kitchen cabinets, the single recessed panel on a Shaker cabinet door doesn't overpower other style elements in your kitchen. While white adds an airy brightness, grey, or even blue, blend well with a more urban aesthetic.
An important thing to keep in mind is, will your kitchen need to evolve? How will the style keep up with the ever-evolving style trends? Even if style trends aren't important to you, a pleasing aesthetic is, and your personal tastes will evolve over time. It's best to choose solid wood custom cabinets that have a classic look that will transcend time and tastes.
WHAT TYPE OF CUSTOM KITCHEN CABINETS DO YOU NEED?
Once you've planned the layout and design using the free design tools, you'll have a good idea as to how many custom cabinets you will need. This will vary from project to project; you'll need to think about not only wall cabinets, but also corner cabinets and pantries to efficiently organize your space.
Think about the things you need to store; for example, a large set of gourmet cookware will require large, deep cabinets, with a pull-out rack. Fine china and crystal can benefit from soft close cabinets. For those with a smaller space, cleverly planned custom cabinets are essential to efficiently organize the room you have.
If you're installing granite, marble, or concrete countertops, you'll also want to make sure your solid wood cabinets are sturdy enough. Our factory direct DIY kitchen cabinets are built with furniture grade plywood, rather than particle board like at many of the retail stores.
Start by listing everything that you need to store in your kitchen, then choose the specific custom cabinets that suit your needs best. Once you have settled on a specific style, look for the dimensions you need. Of course, our design consultant can also help you choose just the right set of pre-assembled or RTA cabinets to make your dream kitchen a reality.
RECEIVING DELIVERY
Once you've ordered your custom kitchen cabinets, it will take a couple of weeks to process your order and deliver them. In the meantime, you can begin taking down the old cabinets; you can either give them to a friend in need, sell at a yard sale, or donate them to charity.
Kitchen cabinets, especially pre-assembled, are big and bulky; they'll arrive on a big truck, so you need to be prepared to personally receive big, bulky items. You may also want someone on hand who can help you move them, if need be.
If receiving a big, bulky delivery is difficult for you, such as if you live in a second-floor condo, RTA cabinets are a good option. Since they are not assembled, the boxes are smaller, flatter, and easier to carry by yourself.
Optionally, customers can pick up at one of the factory warehouse’s to save between 5-10% on their order. We have warehouses in Cleveland Ohio, Canton Ohio, Raleigh North Carolina, Apopka Florida,Reno Nevada, and Houston Texas, so ask about our locations, if you're interested in picking up your custom cabinets yourself.
Once you receive the delivery, be sure to inspect the boxes right away. Any visible damage to the boxes must be documented on the receipt with the delivery driver. After that, be sure you open the boxes right away and inspect the cabinets for damage. You'll only have a limited time to file a claim, and receive a replacement.
INSTALLATION AND ASSEMBLY
If you've ordered RTA cabinets, the first thing you need to do is begin assembling them. You might want to assemble them one at a time, as you install each one. This will save space as you work.
Of course, hiring a contractor is the easiest way to go; a professional contractor experienced with bathroom or kitchen renovations will have the right tools, and know exactly what to do.
Installing can be tricky, with many precise fittings needed to secure them securely to the walls, floor, and ceiling. Unless you're an advanced handyman, leaving the installation to a pro could be the way to go. Not only will the job be done right, but it will also save you from the stress of wondering if you're making a mistake.
However, if you feel up to the job, it's best to have an experienced helper on hand, to help you lift and level the custom cabinets before attaching them to the walls. You'll also need an accurate 4-ft. level, a drill powerful enough to drive 2-1/2-inch screws, and screw clamps that open up at least 8 inches.
If you do decide to install the custom cabinets yourself, while you wait for delivery, research exactly how to do it, and get the tools to do it right. Perfectly leveling your new, wholesale cabinets and securely bolting them to the walls, floor and ceiling are essential to success.
The Discount Custom Cabinets Family can help you through the design process from start to finish. Best of all, we can make delivering the perfect wholesale cabinets easy, fast, and affordable.
